-----Ipic Entertainment in The News
December 2007- The Leader
Luxury at last The long wait is almost over. Opening this Friday, December 7th, is the luxurious Ipic Entertainment. It is a movie theater, bowling alley, bar and restaurant. Located at Bayshore Town Center across from Bar Louie in the 2nd level of the original mall, this state of the art facility is just what the Milwaukee area needs. Upon entering, one cannot help but be captured by the unique artwork featured at Ipic. The entrance has a chandelier of blown glass bulbs that invite people inside. There is modern artwork decorating the walls and instead of purchasing your tickets at the ticket counter as at regular theaters, Ipic features a unique guest service desk that feels more like the check-in of a luxurious hotel than at an entertainment complex. The feel of Ipic is modern and sleek and is definitely something to be seen. The movie theater seating features club seats, loveseats, and all are stadium seating. Ticket's must be reserved and can be done online, at the automated box office or at guest services. By reserving, the guest can choose where he or she would like to sit based on a seating chart, similar to purchasing concert tickets. Tickets are $11 before 6pm and $15 after and always includes free valet and free popcorn. The theater is strictly 21 and over after 6pm and alcohol from the lobby bar may be purchased and brought into the theater. Guests are also allowed to order food from the Ovations restaurant and eat in the theater. Any age is welcome at shows that start before 6pm as long as they are accompanied by an adult. The screens are all digital picture and sound. The bowling alley, Pinstripes, features 11 lanes that end at the back wall which is a 65 ft. movie screen that plays music videos. Forget the hard 1970s seating that most bowling alleys offer. This alley has couches for all the bowlers to lounge on while waiting for their turn. Food from Ovations, the restaurant is also available to order as well as drinks from the two bars that cater to the needs of the thirsty players. Reservations are recommended and per person lane prices range from $4.95-$6.95 depending on the night of the week and time the bowler wishes to come. Shoe rental is $3.95 per person. Ovations is an elegant restaurant featuring American cuisine at hard to beat prices. The menu features everything from soups and salads, pizza and burgers, or lobster pot pie and baby back ribs. Ovations also has a specialty drink menu that will wet any whistle. Reservations are recommended. The two bars featured at the complex are the Sequel Bar and Lounge and the lobby bar. Sequel features hi-definition audio and plasma screen televisions. The décor is modern and inviting and the martinis are plentiful and one of a kind. The lobby bar caters mostly to theater patrons, but features bottle service and hard or soft drinks that are served hot or cold. Valet parking is available and parking is easiest when entering from the back parking ramp that attaches to the original Bayshore Mall. Follow the signs towards the 2nd level of Boston Store and walk out to the second floor of the rotunda. This is a must see, feel, taste, touch and hear venue. It is just what Milwaukee needs for citizens who crave a classy night out. It is great for a group of friends or for a fabulous and impressive date night.
